ZOOM CLASSES IN AUGUST - Strong Body & Mind

Is it time for you to learn new skills?

Yoga & Meditation can change how we react to life’s challenging times.

The skills and knowledge  have been taught through the centuries in the East but are needed now in our modern world more than ever before.

Our lives have changed. I miss my normal life but I have more time and I am slowly adapting and settling into a different slower way of living and I hope you are too.

I  have started Zoom classes and I am enjoying teaching them. It is an opportunity for my classes to reach out to those of you who want to learn yoga in a more authentic & feminine way. I have always wanted to teach more Yin & Restorative Yoga and Workshops. Now I can pick & choose times, offer more and see what interests you.

September will be a focus on the Water Element - Flexible and flowing and Zoom classes allow me to teach a workshop I have been working on for a while.

Following The Moon - Yoga. A womens spiritual practice.

I have been adapting & sequencing classes that all levels can practice for 6 years and I love the way that everyone can come into class and practice.  Some sitting in lotus, some cross legged, whilst others sit in a chair.

This month there will be 4 Zoom classes a week.

Each class will be different, there is so much to learn and it is all interconnected. I’ll post a little description of each class but all will be focused on the Earth Element. Your foundations, Your lower spine & hips, pelvic floor, strong bones, legs & feet.

These classes are particularly beneficial for stress and anxiety. Using Mother Earth to rest, surrender, let go. Feel supported. Find stillness. In yoga there are many different meditations to help you understand and experience the nurturing of the earth element.

Strong & Stable is the first section of my Yoga & Ayurveda Course, it all weaves together.

YANTRA

This time we come back to Earth, I have a Yantra to teach. They are visual meditations which draw your mind inwards and create a positive and powerful mindset.

My students at the Hall enjoyed practicing the Space Yantra Meditation so much and it encouraged me to get out my paints.

This is “my” interpretation of the Yantra which is relevant to my modern life.

Here is the beginning of the meditation but have a look at my classes and see when I am practicing it and join me for 1 Zoom class or for many.

Start the meditation by sitting comfortably. Bring your thumb and ring finger together. This is the Earth Mudra or hand position.

Notice the deep red petals representing the Lotus Flower.

Red is the rainbow teaching for this area of the body.

Powerful, bold, strong.

Take your eyes to the petal on the top right. Rest them there and take a slow and even breath in and out. Move to the bottom right and practice one whole breath again. Move around the petals 3 times. 12 breaths. If your mind wanders bring it back to the petal you were breathing with.

Now notice the yellow square. This is an Ancient symbol of the earth energy. Solid and stable with 4 directions. Do you know which direction you are facing? The space you are sitting in which way is South, where does the sunrise & set? Where is the sun at mid day?

If you don’t know. Then it is your opportunity to step back into nature, to reconnect and feel how you belong to it all.

The bottom of the square represents South. May the cool, powerful South (North in England) embolden, ground and support you. The South is also the same as the earth energy..cold, strong. Which side faces East, make time in your life to watch the sunrise. It doesn’t have to be every day but welcome in the dawn. May the East enliven, enlighten and clarify your life.

Now the North - may the energy of the North, fire energise and help you make changes to your life….& finally the West the sunsets...the part of our lives often lost and forgotten. Let the Western energies, the sunsets... add magic and mystery back into your life.

There is so much more… I want to tell you about Ganesha the elephant in the Yantra. Ganesha represents a strength all humans have, to cast aside our fears and to be strong, gentle, steady, to slowly walk forward no matter what has happened to us in the past and live a fulfilled life. Learn his Mudra as we practice the warrior and feel how it strengthens your arms & heart. More solid & stable, There’s more…. We are not in the centre of the Yantra yet...Join me on Zoom and experience the powerful yantra teachings.
