Blue Mountains - Winter Wonderland 2021

Blue Mountains - Winter Wonderland 2021

I know nothing can feel the same as a “real yoga class’ but there are times when online and zoom classes can still be really important...such as now in lock down. They can also be practiced more than once a week which makes a huge difference to your health & wellbeing.

Zoom Classes begin in August

Online Classes are ready to practice.

Make a real difference to your life. Learn more about yoga.

A 1 year Yoga & Ayurveda Course. The online classes have been carefully planned to combine with diet, lifestyle, herbal medicine and guide you through a course on Women’s Health.

It’s ready to start when you are - Heart to Heart - A Women’s Path to Health & Wellbeing.

My classes are different to others because I studied Ayurveda before yoga and understand how the two sister sciences weave themselves together.

As I completed my first teacher training at 50, running continually through my mind was “This isn’t right, most people would injure themselves (including yoga teachers) or feel humiliated trying to practice some of these postures." Our anatomy teacher cautioned us and ran her own classes which she called “Yoga for Grown Ups” I know why. “Everyone’ and I mean “everyone” should be able to practice and everyone can with my classes. Chair yoga to advanced. The system works towards health & wellbeing.

My Gentle Class has been full for more than a year now because in our society, yoga is not taught for everyone and this needs to change. When you go straight into a yoga class you miss so many important things because there is a system to yoga that should be followed.  It should not be a strong exercise class. You need to slowly advance

That is why I have spent the last 2 years, planning, recording and editing these special online yoga & meditation classes which complement my online book. Bird Song and 6 years of Newsletters.

I guide you through 7 sections. Starting with Strong Body & Mind. Each should take around 8 weeks to complete. Not because there’s a lot to learn but because there’s a lot to practice, including cooking vegetarian healthy meals & gradual changes establish healthy routines. There are plenty of books recommended if you want to add more depth.

You can do the course FREE without the yoga classes & meditations but I am hoping some of you will start it properly with the classes because I’d love some feedback and it would be so good for you.

Lock down, holidays. Keep practicing. Keep learning. I guide each of you through the course.

Yoga & Ayurveda is a holistic path to health.

Keep on Learning and enriching your life.

Cost is only $120

Back to our face to face classes. Well hopefully in 2 weeks.

In July we really start to feel the effects of winter. Less motivated..class numbers always drop this time of year particularly the evening class. We are more likely to catch colds and flu. It is a time of year when KAPHA increases...learn what this means by doing the course. I know if you have been coming to classes for a while you will already have some understanding of what we are practicing and why.

I keep our face to face classes balanced for everyone and change them gradually over the months returning always to the foundations of yoga a Strong Body & Mind but If you start the course as well. I will guide you through it and send you specific  5 to 15 minute routines as well as meditations and yoga classes.

In class we change routines monthly and with the seasons, because we need to alter our yoga practice and everything mentioned before to keep us balanced. Now is not the time to be laying on the floor for long periods of time, keeping still and practicing cooling yoga. Now is the time to practice more standing, heating asana such as motivating warriors, gentle movement and sun flows to keep us balanced.

A simple explanation, it’s cold, our bodies are cooler, “colds” & flus increase. Eat warm food, use chilli & ginger, spend time walking in the winter sunshine. There’s a lot more detail of course including a list of specific food & herbs. Specific yoga postures, meditations, mudras, essential oils, marma therapy, crystals & colour.

This week we were going to practice the healing marma therapy face & neck massage meditation for colds and flu. Using an essential oil blend of orange, peppermint & eucalyptus. My Kapha Blend.

I have been practicing this class at home for a few weeks  because I love it and we always do something special at the end of the month, sadly yoga was cancelled. I’m still practicing it,  it’s so beautiful. We spent 3 weeks learning alignment for the asana, meditations and mudras and then at home I added my new Sacred Earth Album and it became something more...Looking forward to this class when we return.

I have been waking with a stuffy nose and feeling a bit thick headed, it’s very damp & cool where I live on the edge of the marsh. Practicing the class and the face massage feels  like a breath of fresh air and sets me up for the day with a clear head.

I don’t think I have cancelled a yoga class because of sickness for 6 years...I believe it is because  I understand the whole system and it is part of my every day life.

I don’t dread lock down, although I miss teaching. I use it to learn more, spend more time practicing yoga, walking and simplifying my life again.

 Keep Warm. Keep Well

Keep practicing & learning.

Keep enriching your life.

Namaste Julie
