This month our focus is flow yoga or vinyasa sequences.
Lovely flowing breath & movements rather than holding the postures in stillness.
Flow yoga is perhaps the most enjoyable
and easy. Especially if the movement is slow and simple and we will gradually build up to the 30 minute Moon Flow Sequence which is Class 1 of my Online Series Strong Women - The Gentle Class will learn the 10 minute standing sequence only.
You may have heard students practicing next to you and wondered about it.
Ocean breath is a wonderful breathing exercise for calm.
Learn to focus on your exhale first and extend it, making it soft and silky smooth. This
has an immediate effect on calming your nervous system.
Then practice closing down your throat a little. With mouth open imagine steaming up a mirror.
Then with mouth closed, being gentle and soft allow the same sound to travel inwards. If you
aren’t sure you are practicing correctly, ask yourself. How does this feel? If it feels good, then it is good! With practice it feels like a wave of relaxation moving over you.
It is a quick and effective way to reset your nervous system and relax
After a while you might like to take it further and focus on the inhale too.
It can be practiced through out your yoga class.
Mind Yoga - Ancient Teachings
The water element teachings are all about flow. The flow
of thoughts. To let go of negative thoughts and things in your life that you don’t enjoy and replace them with things you do enjoy, things that give you pleasure. Massage anyone?
This month we will learn and practice Self Massage & Marma Therapy
as we move through our Yin Yoga Sequence.
The Earth & Water Element make up the Kapha Dosha or Individual Constitution
Have you a lot of Kapha in you? Cool, strong, stable, steady, flow through life’s
ups and downs.
Most of us haven’t and yoga can bring this into our lives.
My life is filled with the things I love doing. I take action with confidence & power and make it so.
Life should be a pleasure.
If it isn’t, then only you can change it and make it happen.
Your happiness will make those around you happy.
We create need in ourselves and those we love if we do not look after ourselves first.
Orange is a joyful colour..bring
more orange into your life.
Watch the sky at dawn or sunset.
Place an orange crystal some where you will notice it.
Wear orange clothes or jewelry.
But most importantly don't leave things too late.
Act now, pick up
the phone, send a text, do what ever it takes to make changes.
